Wednesday evening Mr. Shuter spoke an epilogue riding on an
ass, at Covent-Garden-House; but it being somewhat difficult
to get the sluggish animal forward on the stage, the house
seemed very much diverted with Mr. Shuter's ridiculous
situation; that excellent humourist, however, soon change
the laugh at him to one with him; by declaring the ass was
as greatly disconcerted, it being his first appearance on
the stage. . . [3 lines describing conclusion of Shuter's
epilogue.]
