Boston, June 22. Extract of a letter from Stockbridge,
dated June 6, 1769. "At an Indian dance the last week, (the
confusion and disorder of which when they are supplied with
strong drink, I can hardly describe to you) two brothers,
overheated with liquor, fell into contention. . . [13 lines
describing death of one at the hand of his intoxicated
brother and suggesting curbing trade between English and
Indians in order to prevent "the Indians being supplied with
rum."]
