A CARD.
Old England sends her blessings to her sons, the agents and
advocates for N. America, conjuring them by all they hold
dear and sacred to themselves and to their posterity, to act
as it behooves them--with firmness--yet with decency, upon
the approaching important occasion; and if they ask nothing
inconsistent with a parent's justice to herself--or
tenderness to her other children to grant, they may safely
rely upon her protection and favor. The mode of their
prayer will either increase or lessen the number of their
relations--who wish to join them in a hymn of praise and
thanksgiving---rather than to see them clothed with
sackcloth and ashes. Be wise in time.
