ROVER, (NO. III)
Oft turning if the day be fair,
To view his shadow's graceful air,
[signed] P.D.
Returning the other day form one of my customary rambles, I
was surprised to see one of those airy, fantastical animals,
so frequently to be met with in all our streets and
assemblies, at some distance from town, and alone. . . [17
lines]
So have I seen on some bright summer's day
A calf of genius debonair and gay,
Dance on the bank, as if inspir'd by same,
Fond of the pretty fellow in the stream.
. . . [44 lines] [signed] Z.
