13-20 Apr 1773:22 (434)
Extract of a letter from Albany, dated April 3, 1773. I
likewise acquaint you, that I have seen John Wall executed
yesterday, for being in connection with those who
counterfeited the paper currency of this province: two
others were hanged with him for that fact. Wall was a
hardened villain, and I believe a great rogue. . . [4 lines]
Such work as he and his fellow prisoners made the day before
they were executed, was never known here before. . . [32
lines] After which they were carried to the gallows and
executed according to their desert. Wall seemed to die a
penitent, and sung psalms at the place of execution.
