Since the unhappy dispute about the right of taxation took
place between Great-Britain and these colonies, all the
eloquence of the orator and persuasion of the politician
have been employed to rouse the people to a sense of their
duty, and stimulate them to manly exertions in defence of
their invaded rights and
Come then, Americans, like heroes bold and brave,
Your cause and rights defend, your bleeding country save:
My bleeding country, virtuous, independant, free,
Tis every thing I ask, tis all I wish to see.
