Deserted from my company in col. Wyllys's regiment one
Samuel Cleaveland, a serjeant about 25 years of age, 5 feet
10 inches high dark eyes, dark hair and light complexion
with a considerable scar on his right temple; and one Elijah
Cheney a soldier about 25 years of age, 5 feet 11 inches
high dark eyes dark hair and light complexion a very good
fidler, both belonging to Pomfret in the state of
Connecticut, supposed to have gone with a view to enter on
board some privateer. Whoever will apprehend both or either
of said deserters and return them to the regiment shall have
ten dollars reward for each and all necessary charges paid
by Wills Clift, Capt.
Fish Kill Jan. 20, 1778.
