Inticed away by some evil minded person, the 9th of August,
a Negro lad, between 16 and 18 years of age, named Peter,
had on a striped linen coat, and jacket, plain tow cloth
shirt and trowsers, an old blue broadcloth coat, with
polished buttons stamped with a pine-tree, an old felt hat,
an old pair of shoes with no buckles, took with him a
check'd woollen shirt, almost new, also a fiddle and flute--
-whoever will secure said lad, and give notice to the
subscriber, so that he may have him again, shall be
handsomely rewarded. [signed] Joshua Hempsted. Hartford,
October 19, 1782.
