Whereas the proprietors of Woodford, in the state of
Vermont, at sundry legal meetings, did tax themselves in the
several sums hereafter mentioned, for the purpose of
defraying the charges of laying out the town, marking the
lots, and making a settlement by a division of said town
with sundry gentlemen who claim a part thereof, cutting
roads, encouraging settlers, &c &c all which have been duly
advertised, and delinquents heretofore notified according to
law--the first rate was ten pounds continental currency
granted on each original right, on the first Tuesday of
September 1779. . . [9 lines describing taxes and dates,
followed by 55 lines of right-owners' names.  Names of known
military drummers extracted]  Thomas Tibbals.
