Dublin, Sept. 21. Extract of a private letter from London.
Ways and means are now contriving against the meeting of the
Parliament, to raise new supplies, which will be a very
difficult matter, there being so many different taxes
already; but however one more is talked of which is to be a
certain taxation on all French taylors, mantua-makers,
vintners, cooks, dancing-masters, valet de chambre, footmen,
grooms, &c. which at only three pounds a head will raise
ninety thousand pounds per annum. . . [8 lines estimating
amount to be raised and purposes for money.]
