Vienna, Sept. 14. The mourning of the court and city is
fixed for a year and six weeks, which deprives people in
several branches of business from getting a livelihood,
particularly those concerned in public spectacles, musick
and dancing; but that they may not be totally destitute of
subsistence, the dowager empress Queen has ordered proper
commissaries to pay a certain sum per day to such as are not
in a condition to support themselves during the mourning.
Her majesty likewise causes large sums of money to be
distributed to the poor, that their prayers may be offered
up to the supreme being for the repose of the soul of the
late emperor.
