Scotland. Edinburgh, June 4. The anniversary of his
majesty's birth day was this day solemnized here with every
demonstration of joy. In the morning, the flag was
displayed from the castle; at noon the great guns fired,
which was followed by a triple discharge of small arms, by
lord George Lennox's regiment, drawn up for that purpose; at
12 the musick bells were set a ringing, and the water works
(as usual) played off.
. . . The night concluded with an assembly, fireworks, &c.
