Stonington, May 2, 1766. Yesterday assembled at Captain
John Denison's, of this town, at six of the clock in the
morning, (with their wheels) twenty one of the most worthy
and likelyest young ladies, Daughters of Liberty, of the
neighbourhood. . . [23 lines describing their day of
spinning "to pursue and encourage industry and the good of
the country", then:] and continued till six o'clock, when
the ladies threw by their wheels, to refresh themselves, and
were joined in the evening by the Sons of Liberty, in a
dance.----The whole was conducted with the utmost decorum. .
