Newport, May 25. Last Wednesday morning two of the
Ministers of the United Brethren, attended by a number of
that religious sect, met together at the spot where they are
about to erect a building for public worship, in order to
lay the chief corner stone. The ceremony began with a hymn
on the humanity of Christ;. . . This was succeeded by a
prayer pertinent to the occasion; then another hymn was
sang, the text for the day (Psal. 102.13) was read, and the
ceremony concluded with a benediction.
