From the Essex Gazette, of Nov. 28. These are to desire the
youth of this land to beware of lying in bed and sleeping
with a certain filthy vagrant, who, by all accounts, has
destroyed the health, if not the reputation, of a number of
hopeful young men. . . in communicating to them the venereal
disease, which he attempts, by unnatural and detestable
practices, while they are in a deep sleep. . . He makes and
sings off hand, songs on various subjects, and many are so
imprudent as to give him money for his doggrel stuff. It is
said he had a good deal of money given him for singing at
the last Concord court, and the last court at Newbury-Port.
