Williamsburg, (in Virginia) Jan. 25, 1770. Last week Mr.
Benjamin Warburton, of James City county, attempting to
seize a Negro fellow in his kitchen, whom he suspected to be
a run-away, was stabbed by him in the side, but not
mortally; and had it not been for a faithful dog, who flew
at the Negro, and tore his legs almost to pieces, Mr.
Warburton, in all probability, would have lost his life.
The dog received two wounds in the fray.-- This fellow was
a hymn singer, and had a book of them in his pocket.
