Extract of a letter from the Hon. Major General Lee, dated
Charlestown, July 2d, 1776. To the President of the
Congress. 
   I should have done myself the honour sooner of informing
the Congress of the attack made by the enemy's squadron on
Sullivan's Island, and their repulse . . . [1 1/4 column,
including repeat of narrative printed on :42]  While [the
Actaeon] was on fire, Mr. Millegan, one of the Carolina
Marine officers, and a party of men boarded her, brought off
her colours, the ship's bell, and as many sails as three
boats could contain. . .
