The Political Spectator, Number III.
When the sword was cruelly and foolishly drawn by Britain
against America. . . [3 column essay, with following
metaphor at bottom of first column:]
The taking of the British army in Virginia is an event of
great magnitude, but we are by no means to sing a requiem to
ourselves upon it. Says the great orator Demosthenes, "It
is said Athenians that Phillip is dead, but what does it
signify whether he be dead of alive? . . ."
