Boston, August 1. From the public prints and private letters
bro't by Cap. Prince from London, we gather, that the nation
is in the utmost confusion from various causes and effects--
great tumults and risings of the people all over England and
Ireland, and chiefly on account of the decline and loss of
trade, and the prodigious scarcity of provisions--In London
14000 sailors combined together not to work on board any
vessel, or suffer any other to work, unless their wages was
raised from 25 to 30/. per month, and having in a body with
fifes playing, &c. presented a petition, they obtained their
demand.
