At the publick commencement held on Wednesday last, the
following young gentlemen were admitted to the degree of
Batchelor of Arts, viz. . . [2 columns of names, followed by
2 columns of men for the Master of Arts degree, and 5 names
for an honorary degree of Master of Arts, and 10 lines
describing the orations] and an anthem sung by the young
gentlemen of the college, concluded the exercises of the
forenoon. . . [6 lines about afternoon orations] the
assembly were entertained by a pathetic valedictory oration
in Latin, from one of the Masters, which was succeeded by
another anthem; after which the exercises were concluded
with prayer. The whole was conducted with utmost decency;
very much to the honour of the young gentlemen concerned,
and to the great satisfaction of a very numerous, polite and
learned assembly.
