New-York, October 16. Extract of a letter from a merchant
in Edinburgh, to a gentleman in this city; with a part of
the answer returned by said gentleman.
I am sorry from the heart, to read of your Americans
attachment to Wilkes, that son of Belial. . . I am told
today, that Wilkes's party had the impudence to attack him
in his coach lately, as he was coming from the play house,
