London. [At the end of an account about the Lord-Mayor's
audience with the King] N.B. The writer of the above account
having given great offence to some persons by inserting in a
former paper, that--Nero fiddled whilst Rome was burning--
and an information having been filed by the Attorney General
against the printer in consequence, takes this opportunity
to declare, that it was not his intention to falsify an
historical fact, or to give offence to better memories; he
hopes therefore it will be admitted as a recompence, if he
now declares, that Nero did not fiddle whilst Rome was
burning.
