We can assure the public that the present famous Catharine,
Empress of Russia, has sent a particular message to our
English Roscious, with the most pressing instances to visit
her at Petersburgh, where she assures him of every honour he
can possible receive; adding, that she has long had the
curiosity to see so surprizing a genius. We hear that Mr.
Garrick intends to write a letter to her Imperial Majesty,
thanking her for the distinction she has thought proper to
pay him; and tho' he declines the honour of throwing himself
at her feet, we hear, he will at her Majesty's desire, send
her a plan for a theatre in Russia, where the plays are to
be in the language of that nation.
