London, Feb. 19. Yesterday morning between 4 and 5 o'clock,
a terrible fire broke out at Mrs. Collier's and Jewson's,
milliners in Bishopgate Street. . . [10 more lines
describing particulars of the fire] A servant the evening
before, desired the watchmen to ring the bell before he went
off in the morning, but he, when he went to do it, seeing a
light in the kitchen, concluded the family were up, and
therefore went off without ringing the bell. The family had
been remarkably careful of fire, but having sat up late and
been fatigued, in preparing dresses for the masquerade,
omitted their usual precaution. . . [3 lines describing
severity of the fire]
