On the 20th of this month sixteen respectable inhabitants of
this town, in company with Captain Sears, set out from this
place for East and West Chester, in the province of New

inhabitants, joined by others to the amount of 80, burnt a
sloop, seized three people who were sent to Connecticut
under guard, and then entered the city of New York "with
bayonets fixed," and marched to the office of James
Rivington, printer, and seized his types] They then faced
and wheeled to the left, and marched out of town to the tune
