Location | Philadelphia |
Citation | CJ-NH.778.002 21 Jan 1778:32 (536) On Christmas day a brigade of militia marched down within musket shot of the enemy's lines near Philadelphia, and taking post between third and fourth-streets continued, alarmed them by sending eight twelve pound balls among them. The enemy beat to arms and fired their artillery, but happily did no damage, although the shot raked both on the right and left of our people. The militia brought off one prisoner and several horses. |
