Extract of a genuine letter from an officer at Guernsey,
dated March 24, 1783. A most daring mutiny broke out in the
104th Regiment, quartered in Fort George, in this island,
all Irish. . . [10 lines describing mutiny and resistance
provided by 18th regiment] About twelve o'clock at night,
sent a serjeant, with the drum-major, to summon them to
surrender; the moment the drum began to beat a parley they
fired upon them. . . [12 more lines describing attempts at
