London, April 27. At the late masquerade, several ladies
having rallied Col. Luttrell, who represented death, with
many satirical strokes, an humourous gentleman present,
observing that the Colonel had not one point of wit to
retort upon them, goes up to him, and cries, "O death where
is thy sting!"
An Irishman, a friend of Colonel Luttrell's, seeing him at
the late masquerade in the character of death, cried out,
"By my shoul, he acts it to the life.
