From a late Edinburgh Paper. Having had occasion to travel
from Glasgow to Edinburgh, upon a Sabbath, I took sermon by
the way, and had the pleasure of hearing one of the most
generous ministers of the Church of Scotland, nay perhaps of
the whole Christian Church;. . .
And indeed he is a preacher extremely favourable to those
who have a long journey before them, for he is none of your
long-winded brethren; he makes quick dispatch, his whole
sermon did not exceed twenty seven minutes: it is to be
observed, we had no psalms.
