Extract of a letter from a worthy gentleman in Kingston,
Jamaica, dated Jan 1, 1775. 
I have taken up this paper to give you a hint on the state
of our Jamaica politics. . . I claim some little merit to
myself for having transmitted those papers; though it is of
that inferior kind which was due to the Sexton who tolled
the bell at the church of the late excellent Dr. Sherlock. .
