On Tuesday evening Mr. Shuter speaking an epilogue riding on
an ass at Covent Garden Theatre, the animal obeyed a certain
impulse of nature on the stage, which occasioned a roar of
the most universal laughter, and rendered it impossible to
hear the celebrated humourist, for several minutes
afterward.  With his usual address, however, Mr. Shuter
passed off the affair with a joke, and finished his epilogue
highly to the satisfaction of the audience.
