[Establishment of nightly guard and watch in Charleston:] .
. . a company of men shall be raised to act as a nightly
guard in Charleston, and shall consist of one lieutenant,
six non commissioned officers, one drummer, and twenty-four
privates, . . . [2 paragraphs]
. . . one sergeant, one corporal, the drummer, and eight
privates, properly armed and accoutred, to attend every
evening at the City guard-house, or such other place as the
Intendant shall direct, there to keep a regular guard every
night throughout the year, from one hour after sun set until
sun rise the next morning. . .

the drummer, two shillings, for every night when on actual
duty. . .
