[In report of victory at Yorktown:] Commissioners were
appointed and articles of capitulation settled and
compleated the 18th.--The most material are in substance as
follows: . . . [Articles 1 and 2,]
Art. III. Settles the time, manner and order of the
garrisons of York and Gloucester side, with shouldered arms,
colours cased, and drums beating a British march, to ground
their arms and return to their encampment, and remain until
dispatched to the places of their destination, &c.
