London, Jan. 11. A person lately from New-York relates,
"That Sir Henry Clinton, since the surrender of the army
under Lord Cornwallis, is extremely reserved in his
behaviour, that he frequently rises from the table before
his guests have half done, and is on horse-back a
considerable part of his time, with hardly any attendants.
. . . The Yankees (Americans) declare, that they are not
without hopes to take him, some favourable night or other,
as they took Gen. Prescot formerly, without his breeches.
The song at headquarters is, "All for Love; or, America Well
Lost, " being an allusion to the title of one of Dryden's
plays, "All for Love, or, The World Well Lost."
