The night before last a messenger arrived from Prince
Ferdinand of Brunswick's Head Quarters at Cleves, with the
following account of the operations of the army under his

The Hussars, supported by the Voluntiers, surprised at
first some patrolers, which were made prisoners of war; and
still continuing to advance, defeated the Cavalry that
shewed themselves, and took a pair of kettle-drums and
standard from the regiment of Bellefond. . .
