London . . . Jan. 21. The crowd was so great at the Opera-
house, to see the hereditary Prince, that the coaches of the
quality could not come near the door, which oblig'd the
ladies to get out and walk to the house. Four parts in five
of the number of genteel persons were obliged to go back
again, after being in the most imminent danger of being
crushed to death. During the time of the crowd, there were
quarrels, and swords drawn by the gentlemen, who endeavoured
to get up; the shrieks of the ladies were very pitiful; a
great many caps, ruffles, handkerchiefs, ear-rings, aprons
and cloaks, were lost, and great numbers of people fainted
away.
