Ran away from the subscriber, living in Talbot County, on
the 20th of August last, a mulatto slave, named Charles,
about 5 feet 5 inches high, well made for strength, has a
remarkable large scar quite over one side of his head, just
above his temples. Had on when he went away. . . [4 lines,
clothing details] He can play on the violin, make shoes,
weave, and do any sort of country work.
Whoever takes up said mulatto slave, and secures him in
any jail within this province, shall have a reward of three
pounds; and if taken out of the province five pounds, beside
what the law allows, paid by [signed] William Martin, junr.
