New-Port, in Charles County, Jan. 9, 1767. Ran away from
the subscriber, the 24th day of December last, a mulatto man
slave, called Stephen, by trade a house carpenter, he can
work pretty well as a wheel-wright, sawyer, or tight cooper,
is about 35 years of age, 6 feet 1 or 2 inches high, a long
face, thin jaw'd, a small scar on one of his cheeks, I
believe the right, and several scars on his legs, cut with
edge tools, he can play on the fiddle, is a very sensible,
cunning fellow, and if taken will endeavour to make his
