By a gentleman just arrived from St. Brieux in Britanny, we are informed, that the celebrated dramatic author, who lately absconded for a detestable attempt, was found dead near Doi, by the monks of a monastery near that place. A considerable sum of money found upon him, became the property of the holy fathers. It was said, that he had poisoned himself, and that some writings found caused the discovery. |
