Cupid in India. A Fact.
About two years since, a gentleman of property in Bengal,
wrote to a friend in London, deploring the state of beauty
in that scorching climate, and requesting him to prevail on
some young lady, well born and educated, with a tolerable
share of personal charms, to make a voyage to India, giving
his honor to make her immediately his wife. The gentleman
who received the commission was induced to send his
daughter, who to a disengaged heart, added beauty, music,
and every accomplishment. . .
