Three pounds reward. Ran away from the subscriber living in
Frederick county, near Hawling River Chapel, a small Negro
man named Tom, sometimes calls himself Tom Hall; had on when
he went away a country linen shirt and trowsers, and the
crown of a castor hat; he has a fine voice, dances well, and
says he can play on the fiddle; one of his middle toes broke
but I don't remember which foot. Whoever secures the said
Negro in any gaol, or brings him to the subscriber, shall
receive the above reward and reasonable charges, paid by
[signed] John Musgrove. Sept. 3d, 1776.
