Fifty Pounds Reward, May 11, 1778. Ran away, from the
subscriber, living near Northampton's Furnace, 10 miles from
Baltimore-Town, a mulatto slave, named Penny, 25 years of
age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, long visage, and short black
curled hair. Had on when he went away, white country kersey
upper and under jackets, with black stripes, breeches of the
same, old shoes, a country linen shirt, and a fulled cap.
He can whistle much like a fife, in particular a tune
called, The Black Joke. He says he will list, and try to
get to the British.
