Baltimore, Friday, two o'clock, A.M. April 11.  On Saturday
lst the Vigilant, Captain Barnwell, arrived at New-York from
London.  She brings the olive-branch in a flourishing state
. . . [6 lines announcing peace. There follows a long
explanation about translation of preliminary articles of
peace coming too late to get into this paper with a jib at a
Philadelphia printer who published them "cunningly dated at
Baltimore" . . . "pretended to have been printed by a Mr.
John Hayes" (publisher of competing newspaper in Baltimore)
"to gain him. . . the fame of the famous Doctor Faustus"] .
