Location | London |
Citation | MS-B.772.063 27 Aug 1772:1051 (2/80) One Cudjoe, a black, by the death of an aunt, became last week possessed of a fortune of 1000L. This black was sent over as a present to the late Lord Halifax, as a grateful acknowledgement for his having interested himself warmly in the cause of the two young African Princes, who were here in the last reign. When Lord Halifax was Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, he made this Cudjoe state trumpet, which place he still enjoys. |
