Hamburgh, August 16. N.S. The King of Great Britain arrived
at Stade last Friday in the evening attended only by two
pages and four of his life-guard. His Majesty was met by
the Magistrates of that city without the High Gate, and by
the clergy in the Ravelin. The bughers made a lane for his
Majesty in the streets through which he pass'd. Upon the
King's entrance, the cannon were thrice discharged, the
bells rung, and a concert of trumpets and kettle-drums was
perform'd upon the tower of S. Wilhad's Table, his Majesty
supp'd in publick. . . [19 lines] About nine o'clock at
night [on Sunday] a fine firework was play'd off, which
lasted till after midnight, and gave great satisfaction to
his Majesty, who was with his courtiers in a tent upon the
Castle-Wall, where they saw it from the beginning to the
end. Besides the musick of kettle-drums and trumpets, a
cantata was sung, expressly upon his Majesty's happy
arrival. . . [18 lines]
