Annapolis, in Maryland, April 23. This being the Festival
of St. George, patron of England; the Rev. Mr. Grandville,
preach'd an excellent sermon suitable to the day; the
English Society made a handsome entertainment in the
Stadt-House of this city, where they were honoured with the
presence of my Lord Baltimore, and a great number of
gentlemen of distinction. After dinner while several loyal
healths were drank, accompany'd with a consort of musick,
the town guns were fir'd. In the evening, the ladies and
gentlemen made a very splendid appearance at a ball; which
rendred the night rather more agreeable than the day had
been.
