London. . . July 16. . . The governor of Philipsburgh
obtain'd a capitulation of the Marshal d'Asfeldt; so that
the account of the town being taken by assault, was perhaps
confounded with that of the assault upon the crown work:
Two deserters from the town gave the marshal d'Asfeldt
information that the garrison was in great want of
provisions, and that they must be obliged to surrender upon
the general's attempting to storm the town; measures being
taken for that purpose the governor beat the chamade
accordingly.
