[Naples] March 3. . . The spirit with which his Imperial
Majesty has shewn his resentment of the slights put on him
by the Pope, whilst his affairs seem'd bad in Italy, will
not be soon forgot by the Papal Court, who are again in a
panick on account of an accident which happen'd a few days
ago in their streets, where Mr. Donghi an officer in the
Imperial service, being in his coach, the town balif stopt
him, and order'd his coachman to make way for the fiscal's
son, who was passing in his coach the same way: The German
officer taking the bailiff's behaviour as an affront, got
out of his coach and caned him, which the governor of the
city resenting, sent to the officer the next day to keep to
his house; but contemning the arrest, he went out directly,
and appear'd the same evening at the opera, where he was
taken into custody by the city magistrates, and committed to
prison. . .
