Philadelphia. . . Jan. 13 . . . On Monday last died here of
the small pox, in the eleventh year of his age, Thomas
Brownell, nephew to Mr. George Brownell, school master of
this place. His great accomplishments, considering his age,
together with his natural sweetness of temper, the
amiableness of his person, and his manly deportment, gain'd
the love and esteem of all who knew him ; and his death is
universally regretted. His remains were yesterday interr'd
in a very decent manner; People of all ranks testifying
their respect to him by attending his corps to the grave.
