Last Tuesday Mr. John Winthrop, second son of the Hon. Adam
Winthrop, Esq, of this town, was publickly install'd
Hollisian Professor of the Mathematicks & Philosophy at
Harvard College at Cambridge: The solemnity was perform'd
in the College Hall, with great decency, in the presence of
his Excellency our Governour,. . . [long para.; 8 lines up
from bottom] The Rev. Dr. Sewall, at the desire of the
President prayed; and the solemnity was concluded with
singing the eight first verses of the 148 Psalm. In the
afternoon there was a very plentiful dinner provided in the
Hall, to which all the Gentlemen who attended the solemnity
were invited.
